Burberry is one of my favorite designer brand so since they launched their makeup line a few years ago, I was always wanting to try something. Just until now, I bought myself a Burberry Lip Velvet lipstick in Rosewood, and I’m in love with it!
The packaging is really nice and delicate with the signature check pattern on the tube. I like the sleek charcoal-y black color because I’m quite sick of the golden tubes from literally every brand already! Burberry Lip Velvet Lipstick has a magnetic closure, however there’s something with this closure that it doesn’t match the top and bottom angles when it closes by itself. Other than that, this packaging is to die for!
This lipstick has a strong scent of old women perfume, something rosy and powdery.
The texture of this Burberry lipstick is velvety smooth, ultra soft and it glides on my lips like a dream! It’s really thin and lightweight on the lips but it stills delivers pigmented color payoff. Really, I could even forget that I had lipstick on while wearing this.
Burberry Lip Velvet has a soft matte finish which I really like. I doesn’t look flat, dead on the lips. It doesn’t dry my lips out like other matte lipstick and I feel really comfortable wearing it.
The swatch above is 2 swipe without any lipbalm underneath. I always swatch lipstick with my dry, chap lips to see if it well moisturizes.
This is a long wearing lipstick for sure even though it does transfer. I use it for around 6 hours with drinking (without straw) and eating greasy food but it just fades a little bit. The thing I love about this lipstick is it fades evenly and nicely. It just transforms to a lighter color without any weird, uneven line.
The color I chose is Rosewood. Honestly I like all lipstick called rosewood, it’s just my everyday color! However, this Burberry Rosewood is different and unique. It’s a neutral browny dusty rose with a hint of red. It’s suitable for all skintones I believe and it’s really easy to wear.
Overall, I love love love this Burberry Lip Velvet and I’m looking forward to try other Burberry makeup product.
Have you tried Burberry makeup? Do you have any recommendation for me? 😀
