When I lived in France, the loyalty program was totally different than in North America. We have White, Black and Gold equivalent to Beauty Insider, VIB and VIB Rouge. With no points rewards (they have private discount instead, offen 10-20%), shopping in European Sephora seems easier.
When I first moved here in Canada, I was amazed of how the system works, you can actually accumulate points (no expiry time for the points – yes you can keep it for your whole life!) and claim your rewards. They usually have 3 points peeks: 100 (often small samples), 250 (often mini perfume) and 500 (often set of samples). 1$=1 point
So apart from that reward system, I have some little tricks from my shopping experience to help you save more and earn more!
1. Check for the products in store, purchase it online
If you are not sure about what you’re gonna buy, what shade suits your skin,..etc go to the nearest store and check for it! You can even ask the staff to get you small sample so you will be able to actually try it at home. However, I don’t suggest to purchase in store because you will miss all the goodies of online shopping! Sure you can ask for some samples, but you can not actually pick it yourself and the limit is only 3 samples per bill, and sometimes they give you 1 sample!
2. Always use promo code!
Promo code is a great way to have the 4th sample (apart from your 3 samples that you get with every order – often perfume sample). The value of promo code item is even better than normal sample, you can get set of 3 mini perfume (so in total you’ll get 6 samples), or mini makeup and skincare item. I got a Benefits primer in travel size for my recent order, not bad at all!
If you want to buy a perfume, promo code is a MUST since brands often give you a tote or a clutch if you are ordering their perfume! Trust me, they are gorgeous these goodies!
So where to get the promo code from? First, check your email, they frequently send some newsletter about the hot promos. Second, you can check this link out, it’s where they put all the promo codes of the week.
Now, sometimes it can get frustrating because almost all the promocodes you like don’t seem to work (they go out of stock really quickly depends on the item), next to where you put your code, there’s a link said “View current promo” or something like that, I don’t remember well, but it’s right there. Be sure that you click on it, it will show some “hidden” promos and they are all in stock! I got a mini Giorgio Armani mascara in my January order!
3. Like the Sephora Facebook page
Even if you don’t use Facebook, you still need to check it out. Sephora has something called “fan Friday” when they post a special promocode every Friday. Now, these usually are really hot items (Mini Anastasia, Kat von D liquid lipstick, last time I save a mini Guerlain lipstick!) so you will need to be fast ’cause girls, it lasts for like 5 hours before running out of stock!
Apart from fan Friday, they sometimes post some other special promocodes that you will not see from their website, I got my Benefits code from here and trust me they have so many interesting things. The most recent one was a mini Lancome eyeshadow palette!
Online shopping in Sephora is always my favorite thing to do because of all the goodies I get along with my purchase. I hope this post will help you to earn some extra items, not only the usual perfume samples that you got 3, 4 times already ^^
Do you have any other tricks with Sephora shopping? Please share it with me I would love to know!
Have a wonderful day!
