The Balm Instain Blush in Pinstripe
I was always a lipsticks girl. I collected every color possible with every finish. Now that I am doing a Project Pan (see here), I know that these suckers will never be finished, so I just slowly change my hoarding habit to another department of makeup – Blush. Where have I been all these years to not discover the beauty of it? I must have missed many, many colorful and gorgeous blushes. So in the upcoming months you may see me review some of the classic in blush world that almost everybody on earth knew about it already.. Yes I am that late. But who cares, maybe there’s someone like me out there just didn’t discover this whole new addiction
The blush I review today is The Balm Instain Blush in Pinstripe.By the name you can guess that this is a staining blush, but thanks God, it’s a powder! (cause I’m so bad in cream blush..). This line has 6 colors, range from pink to plum, they all look easy to wear and not so crazy.
I like the cardboard packaging so much because it’s very light to travel. The design of magazine cover is so cute and creative, and I love how TheBalm always plays with words in their packaging! The blush has strong magnetic closure and it comes with a mirror, it’s very handy and convenient.
The texture in the pan is quite dry and chalky, however it gives a silky smooth texture when it’s applied on skin. The staining factor is 100%, it does stain my cheeks so I always work as quickly as possible. A little goes a long way with The Balm Istain blush. I also build the color gradually to have better result since this blush is buildable. The best thing about The Balm Instain is it lasts on me whole day, seriously, from early morning of 6 am to 6pm without fading!
The color Pinstripe is perfect for me. It looks scary and intense in the pan, but when it’s applied lightly on the skin, it’s really natural and muted. It’s a plum color with warm hint of purple. The gold shimmers in this blush make it so wearable.
Overall, this is my favorite blush for winter, and why not for spring and summer too? Sure it’s a plummy color but I think I still can rock it with a bright fuchsia or rosy lips!
