The Balm is one of my favorite brands with high quality product and really nice packaging (oh, and creative product names!). This Shady Lady vol.2 also impressed me a lot, just as other The Balm stuffs!
This Shady Lady line has 3 edition, vol.1 – vol.2 – special edition; each version has a different animal print in the packaging. They are all made from cardboard, which is really nice and convenient to travel with. The huge mirror in these palette is a big plus too!
Shady Lady vol.2 contains 9 eyeshadows/liner with all metallic and shimmery finishes. The color range in this palette is really nice, with some classic neutrals and then some dark, unique shadows. I find the colors in this palette really complex, it’s not the flat shadows you usually see. The shimmers make some colors really special and have the depth in it.
The quality of these eyeshadows is beyond perfect! It’s really creamy (no fall out at all!!) and highly pigmented. The swatch above is just 1 swipe and I barely touched the shadows! (and that is without primer!)
It blends really easily so it doesn’t require any skills or something to work with these bad boys. It stays on and last all day on my oily lids without any creasing and fading.
I also tried to use them as liner and it looks really good especially in the lower line, feisty felicia and caught in the act courtney are my favorite shadows to use as liner.
Overall, this is a really nice palette with high quality. The only problem is there is no matte eyeshadow to highlight the brow bone or use as crease shade (for those who have hooded eyes like me). But it’s still my favorite palette and I created lots of nice looks with it.
Have a beautiful day,
